Pumpkin Carving

We have finally been able to see a little bit of Dad these last two days, so we took advantage of it last night and did our pumpkin carving. Dad & Lexi worked on the pumpkin, while Jordan explored the yard, and I took pictures and watched Jordan.

Pumpkin Festival

Yesterday, I took Lexi and Jordan to the Life is Good Pumpkin Festival. We had fun at most of their stations including needle (candy) in a hay stack, petting zoo, games, face painting, etc.

Where Dad Lives

Conversation last night at 7pm:

Lexi- "Dad doesn't live in Montana."

Me- "You're right. Where does he live?"

Lexi- "At work" (quite true)

Me- "Oh...he will be here in a little while."

Lexi- "Yeah, he is coming to visit us. He is my friend."

After that, I called Steve to tell him about the conversation & let him know that he should probably dart through traffic to get home as soon as possible. When he finally got home at 7:45pm, I had him read her bedtime stories because it had been a while since he had done it.

Feeling Better

Lexi is feeling better, so it was back to school for her today. She is still a little hoarse, but she just couldn't miss the birthday celebrations for her teacher, Ms. Libia. I even made a card for her to take.

Sad Cries from a Talker

Last night, Lexi started sounding hoarse. I figured that I would probably be keeping her home from school today, but I wanted to wait until morning to decide. This morning, she was clearly worse. She even started crying while she said “I can’t talk!” That was pretty much repeated over and over again all day. What a tough thing for a non-stop talker to have to deal with. The pediatrician confirmed that she has strep throat. Lexi has gotten lots of television time and rest today. Hopefully, the drugs start kicking in and she is much better tomorrow. By the way, she is now 31 lbs.

Boo at the Zoo

On Saturday, we went to the zoo for their annual Boo at the Zoo event. It is basically like any other day at the zoo except some kids were in costumes and their were several booths handing out tootsie rolls. Most of the animals also had pumpkins to chew on. Here are the photos of Lexi:

Halloween Decor

On Tuesday (Lexi's day off from school), I cut a bunch of paper up to make jack-o-lanterns. Lexi glued the faces on for me. Then, we taped them to our window. It was a fun activity that added a little Halloween decor to the house.

Back on the Farm

Since Fall is upon us, life is returning to this southern hot spot. Activities are starting and people are crawling out from their little a/c filled caves. Today, the high was only going to be 88 degrees, so we decided to head to Dewberry Farms for some fun. We'll probably go there a couple of times in the next 2 months that it is open. **Between both blogs (Lexi & Jordan's) you can see this event was well documented.
