Saint Patty's Day

It is Saint Patrick's Day and of course I insisted that we all wear festive t-shirts. We went to see the new movie, Beauty in the Beast (live action) with Grandma. After, we met Papa, Katy and Jackson at B52 which is an outdoor brewery that has food trucks and games on some weekends.

St Patty's Day

We had a pretty good St Patty's Day with Grandma and Papa.  Lexi begged me to let her go to church all glamorous today.  I bought her the fake fingernails a few years ago (in California) and had never let her wear them.  They seemed too silly to go anywhere.  I agree today and my mom put them on her.  I decided to do the double french braid into one.  I haven't done that to her hair for a while.

After church, we headed up to Spring, Texas (45 minutes to an hour away) with Papa.  Papa's daughter, Katherine lives there.  We went to her house and then headed out to dinner.  She picked a seafood restaurant.  Apparently, she loves seafood, but her husband, Jason, doesn't.  He was out at the race track and didn't join us.

Lexi and Jordan got to see different kinds of foods that they have never had before.  For the appetizer, Papa and Katherine had oysters.  My mom and Katherine had crawdads for their meal.  You can see by Lexi's face exactly what she thought of the crawdads.  Neither of the kids wanted a taste. I wasn't all that adventurous either, although I already know what both of those taste like.  I was happy with coconut shrimp.  The kids had hamburgers.

St Patrick's 2012

Lexi and Jordan spent last night and today with their dad. I told her that the neat thing about spending this holiday with her dad was that I was sure he would forget to wear green. She would be able to pinch him a lot. She wasn't so convinced it would work. I let her know that I was going to pack her bag with green pjs, a swimsuit that had green on it and her St Patty's shirt. I told her when she woke up in the morning, she could start pinching him if he didn't have green on. She was quite excited to carry out the little plan and managed to keep it a secret. According to her, it worked just as planned.

They had a fun day and got to go swimming in his apartment pool. Her hair is messy, but not bad considering that I did it last night and she went swimming.

Seaworld Before St Patty's

One of my HUGE deadlines is coming up on Friday, so today I knew I had to get the kids out in the sunshine doing physical activities. Seaworld was the perfect answer. We had a great time.

St Patty's 2010

Grandma helped kick off our St Patrick's day with a green breakfast. She made french toast & eggs, but Lexi doesn't eat eggs. We had a pretty good day at the YMCA and watching Irish Dancers at Grandma's work. The kids watched a video with Grandma that night, while I played on the computer. The funny thing is that we spent last St Patrick's day here in California too and if you are wondering - yes Lexi was wearing the same thing (I bought a size 4 last year).

St Patty's Day

Lexi & Aunt Paige

Being Irish means that we have to dress up and really celebrate St Patrick's Day. We started off with green oatmeal for breakfast. Most of our St Patty's Day was spent outside in green parks. Paige took us to Mission Bay Park in the morning. The kids played on the big toys and then chased the birds. We had a picnic there and then headed back to the house for naps. Later, Steve's Aunt Carol & Uncle Milton came from LA to hang out with us. We went down to the Cove with them and saw the seals again. It was fun.

St Pats Day Shout-Out

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!! Ok, so we didn't do much other than walk over to the park & play on the "big toys." We are still celebrating in our own little way though.
