LegoLand Day 1

This morning started as a regular boring Saturday. We planned to run errands. When we were ready to go, my mom's brother called to say that they were visiting my cousing (their daughter) in California and were going to LegoLand today. They wanted to know if we could meet them. Of course, we said yes and headed out to meet them. We had a wonderful time and Lexi LOVED playing with her second cousins. We're going again tomorrow.

SeaWorld Day

It has been a crazy week for me with my sinus infection and too much work. We made it to a great playgroup, but other than that we haven't done a lot. Today, I decided that we needed to go to SeaWorld for a few hours. As usual, we had a wonderful time.

Ballet

Lexi had another dance class this week. The lesson went well for the first 15 minutes. Then the kids seemed to get hyper. The poor teacher had a difficult time keeping them focused especially the younger ones. She does everything right, but she doesn't have a commanding personality. Some little girls were wandering around the room doing their own thing. Lexi did everything she was asked but paid too much attention to herself in the mirror. We stayed after to watch the next class that is full of young teenagers. She saw how serious they are and how well they listen. I am sure she'll do better next week.

Preparing for Primary Program

Lexi went to church today to practice for the big primary program they are putting on next week. She is excited about it. She even practices singing the songs.

Unfortunately, the rest of primary isn't going so well. Let's just say that one of the main problems is that it isn't properly supervised. In addition to that, although this is an affluent ward, quite a few of the kids come from homes where they are not taught to behave (at all). They don't seem to be intellectually stimulated at home either. Even though Lexi is in a class with all older kids, she is very advanced compared to them in too many ways. Oh well, she is looking forward to her small part in the performance next week. After that, we'll see how this goes.

Talk Like a Pirate Day

One of Paige's friends, who loves to dress up as much as she does, celebrated Talk Like a Pirate Day with a party. Paige decided to make sugar cookies. I helped by drawing the skull and cross bones and cutting it out for a stencil. Lexi and Jordan were official tasters. While Paige was out partying, we celebrated by watching Disney's Peter Pan.

Newest Ballerina

Lexi's ballet classes started yesterday. She was so excited. Before the class started, she had all the little girls following her moves (like she was the teacher). When the teacher came, she marched right up to her and introduced herself. While some of the girls were trying to climb on the bars, she just loved watching herself in the huge mirrors. ...and in true Lexi fashion, she made lots of comments and talked a little too much.
