Exploration Park with Cousins

It was a beautiful day out and these kids needed to move. We went to exploration park. The cousins from Montana definitely need to enjoy the sunshine and warmer air this week. 

Roaming the Grandparents' New Hood

Today, our Spring Break fun included a LONG walk down to the club house in Grandma & Papa's new neighborhood. I think the kids complained for 3/4 of our walk, but we kept going. At the club house, they fished out floating golf balls from the lake that is used as part of the driving range.

On the trek back, we stopped at this old fashioned park. It is rare to see metal play equipment, so they thought it was a real treat. Fortunately, it wasn't hot enough for them to experience the burning effects these parks can have.

Back to the new park

The new park was so amazing that the kids wanted to come back again today. They focused most of their time on building the steps with the blocks.

New Park

There is a new park in our town. We decided to go check it out today. They loved it.  

White Sands National Monument

We made it to El Paso today.  We're going to be here with friends for several days.  They invited us to go to White Sands National Monument tonight. The park stayed open late because of the full moon.  With the orbit of the moon bringing the moon closer than usual, it was quite a bright night.  The kids loved playing in the powered white sand with their new friends.  It looked a lot like snow.  There was a stage with a mariachi band.  We had a good time.  

Brazos Bend for Spring Break

What would Spring Break be without outdoor fun?  Hopefully, we never find out.  Today, we went to Brazos Bend State Park with some friends.  We got to hike around, laugh, talk, and point out alligators, turtles, and birds.

Spring Break

Spring break is here.  We walked over to the park today.  The kids needed some sunshine, fresh air, and chance to get their energy out.  

Warm at the Park

We just had to take advantage of the warm weather today.  I took the kids to a park.  I like this park because it has a sidewalk around the whole playground.  I can get a little exercise while they have fun.  

Friends Over

One of my friends from church (my visiting teaching companion) had to go to Utah for the week with her husband.  It was her in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary and a huge party had been planned.  Unfortunately, they could not afford plane tickets for their 5 kids.  The oldest 3 stayed with friends.  The youngest two went to another family from church's house.  That family had other plans this evening, so she asked me to watch them.  We picked them up this afternoon and I took them straight to a park.  I knew it would be great for all the kids.  We have Elizabeth, who recently turned 7, and Daniel who is about 2.5.
