Mall & Grandma’s Treatment

Grandma Margie had chemo today. We all wanted to be supportive and give Papa a break, but kids can't go to the hospital. Instead, Aunt Paige spent the day with her. wanted to go with her. I drove and we dropped Grandma and Paige off at MD Anderson in the Woodlands. Lexi enjoys looking at clothes stores, but she enjoyed the pet store the most.

Mom/Daughter Day

Jordan and I got to spend some time together last Saturday. Today, it was Lexi's turn to be with me. Jordan spent the night with Grandma & Papa. Lexi and I went to the mall and she wanted to do a few of the same things he did.

Big Sister Shirt

Lexi has been wanting another "Big Sister" shirt for a while. Yesterday, while we were at the outlet mall with Grandma, I saw this one and a "Little Brother" shirt at the GAP. Fortunately, they were on sale so we just had to get them. Lexi and Jordan loved wearing them today.

Shopping with Grandma

Grandma Margie had the day off today, so we went shopping. We started off at the Deseret Book Store near the LDS temple, where Lexi got her first CTR ring. CTR stands for Choose the Right. It is a little reminder to make good decisions. She enjoyed spending the day with Grandma and shopping.

Seaport Village with the Cousins

Friday night, we all went to Seaport Village to walk around the little shops and look at the water. The kids loved trying on lots of hats at the hat shop and riding the carousel that I think goes too quickly.

Souvenir Shop

I was planning to just post these pictures, but when I was uploading them for this post the last one inspired me to write a little something about the kids.

My mom has made several comments to me about how well my kids do in Souvenir Shops. Mainly, it is because that they don’t beg for every item in there. It wasn’t something I planned or even expected. I guess it stems back to when Lexi was little and I would let her touch or hug everything she was interested in at stores. When she asked for something, I would tell her that Santa might get it for her. Now, when she really likes something she gives it a hug and says that Santa might buy it for her. She also asks me to take a picture of her hugging things. It is actually fun to go into stores with the kids.

Sitting on Santa's Lap

We went to see Santa at the mall this morning. We got there a little before ten, which was before Santa and his photographers showed up. We were first in line. Lexi has been looking forward to seeing him and has mentioned several times that she "will not cry at Santa." Of course, she told him that she wants Princesses. When they handed her a pair of cheap maracas, she looked at me with a confused expression and exclaimed, "these are not princesses." I chuckled and told her that he'll be bringing her princesses to the house on Christmas day.

Right after we were done, we headed to the theater to see The Tale of Despereaux. She first saw the trailer when we were at Madagascar 2. I told her that it comes out on Uncle Chris' birthday. Since then, the two have gone hand-in-hand. I knew I'd have to take her to see it on the first day. Jordan fell asleep right as it was starting, so we were able to enjoy it.

Ear Infection

Yesterday, I planned to stay home all day with my sick kids. I asked Lexi several times if her ear was hurting and she said no. Around 2pm right as I was putting Jordan in the tub, she complained that her ear hurt. I called the doctor's office and was told I could "come in right now." I loaded up the car and headed over there quickly. Lexi's right ear is infected (same side as Jordan's).

The doctor prescribed the exact same medicine that Jordan got on Monday. We headed to Super Target again to pick it up. Of course, the same people were behind the counter at the pharmacy. The lady smiled, so I said "We're back again. We live here."

Lexi decided to announce it louder as we were walking away. She practically yelled, "We live here." I had to laugh.

Santa, Santa, Ho - Ho - Ho

While at the mall getting some Christmas shopping done today, we saw that the line for Santa (at the Bass Pro Shop) was short. Although, we were not prepared, we decided to take a few photos anyway. You never know if/when we'll get another chance (because I am "taking it easy" as instructed by the hosptial). As you can see, Lexi was fine until she was cruely placed on Santa's lap. Let the fun times roll!
