Nutcracker with Friends

Lexi got to spend the evening dressed up all fancy to attend the Nutcracker with one of her best friends from church, Heather.  Heather's mom planned out the evening and invited a bunch of mother/daughters to attend.  She told me that she would be happy to take Lexi if I couldn't make it.  I thought that would be best because it would be difficult to get a babysitter for Jordan on a school night.  The picture below is of the entire group, which a friend posted on Instagram.  We know all of them from church.

Last Ballet Class

Lexi's last day of ballet class was yesterday. She has really enjoyed it and is even listening more than she is talking during class (miracle for her). We'll sign her up again in the future, but we are going to take a little break mainly because of the money. I don't feel too bad though because we have lots of exciting things happening over the next 6 weeks.

Winterized Ballet Outfit

Lexi was been wanting to wear her ballet sweater and leg warmers, but it hasn't been cold enough. I offered to put them on her and take pictures before ballet class. She liked that idea.

Ballet

Lexi had another dance class this week. The lesson went well for the first 15 minutes. Then the kids seemed to get hyper. The poor teacher had a difficult time keeping them focused especially the younger ones. She does everything right, but she doesn't have a commanding personality. Some little girls were wandering around the room doing their own thing. Lexi did everything she was asked but paid too much attention to herself in the mirror. We stayed after to watch the next class that is full of young teenagers. She saw how serious they are and how well they listen. I am sure she'll do better next week.

Newest Ballerina

Lexi's ballet classes started yesterday. She was so excited. Before the class started, she had all the little girls following her moves (like she was the teacher). When the teacher came, she marched right up to her and introduced herself. While some of the girls were trying to climb on the bars, she just loved watching herself in the huge mirrors. ...and in true Lexi fashion, she made lots of comments and talked a little too much.
