Glorious Blue Bell

You may think I am joking out the love Texans have for Blue Bell Ice Cream. It is actually all true. We get so excited seeing them back in the freezer section.

Cupcake with a Friend

Heather is one of Lexi's favorite friends from church. They clicked when we moved here 4.5 years ago. This summer, they both started watching Cupcake Wars on tv. When Heather came today, they wanted cupcakes of course. I decided that it was best just to buy two instead of making a whole batch. Unlike the Cupcake Wars, there are no strange ingredients like cockroaches in these.

Blue Bell Famine of 2015

This has been an especially exciting week for Texans. Others may not have noticed so much, but the Blue Bell Famine of 2015 has finally started subsiding. Thankfully, we live in one of the few cities where they released the first batches. I had friends that went to the grocery store when it opened to load up on as many as the store would allow. It may seem crazy, but there is no other ice cream we can tolerate here in this great state. A Texas summer without ice cream is just miserable.

We had church activities this evening and heard on the radio that Gallery Furniture is giving away free Blue Bell Ice Cream. We made a special stop on the way home for some. The celebration included a man on stilts and others. We even got a free Welcome Back Blue Bell sign for our yard. This is a great day in history.

Snow Cone Day

I finished my huge proposal that is due today and decided that we needed to celebrate a little.  We definitely needed to get out of the house.  I am avoiding the pools until Lexi's burn gets better, so we went to the mall to walk around in the A/C.  It is very hot here.  On the way back, we stopped at a snow cone stand.  Lexi ordered a mix of wedding cake and vanilla flavors.  Jordan had root beer flavored.  I had cream soda.  Surprisingly, Lexi's tasted the best.

Ice Cream and Sunset at the Beach

Last night, we went to the beach for dinner and ice cream. It was a rare beautiful night. For Southerners, California is a bit chilly especially in the evenings. We had a good time.
