Student Council on Morning Announcements

Lexi is the Vice President of Student Council. This morning, they were on morning announcements to sell smencils (aka smelly pencils). I decided to go and record it. 

Fun Run 2016

The kids had their annual Fun Run, which is one of the fund raising events the school puts on every year. They get so excited to spend the day running outside.

Polar Express Day

It is Polar Express Day at Lexi and Jordan's school, which is one of their favorite events. It always happens on the last day before Christmas break. They only have a half day of school, but it is all fun. They get to wear pjs, drink hot chocolate, play games, and watch the Polar Express movie. 

After school got out, Lexi's friend Kristina came to our house. Her mom works until 6 pm, so she comes over quite often. They were really excited about school being out for the next few weeks. 

4th Grade Thankful Party

The school Thanksgiving parties were today. They call them Thankful parties. I guess that is an effort to be politically correct, but it is obviously a Thanksgiving party.

Knitting Caps

Every year, Lexi's school chooses charity projects for the kids to work on. This year, the 4th graders are knitting caps for babies. They dedicated the day to it and asked for volunteers to help. Lexi asked Grandma Margie to come in and help her class. She did and really enjoyed it. They used a circle loom, which she hadn't used before but of course caught on very quickly. She even showed them how to make a pom pom for the top, which the teachers didn't know how to do. All the kids loved Lexi's grandma.

My Aunt Sue (mom's sister), cousin Kim, and Kim's daughters came to visit us for the weekend. Lexi and Jordan had a school festival last night, so we all went. The above picture is Reagan, Jordan, Lexi and London. They had fun. Lexi is on student council, so she had to spend part of the night running the bake sale. 

Cluster of Kids

Sometimes, we have a whole cluster of kids walking with us to and from school. Most of them are latchkey kids so I watch out for them. It takes a village to raise a kid and someone has to be around to do it. I am lucky that I have the flexibility to.

Fifth Day of Fourth Grade

The kids survived an entire week of me walking them into the school. The picture above is of my little Safety Patrol girl with Kristina and Jordan. Obviously, I have had fun teasing her this week. 

Fourth Day of Fourth Grade

Today, Lexi wore the outfit that I bought to match her cousin Eden. It says "It is hard to be Cool."

Third Day of Fourth Grade

It is the third day and I am still annoying my kids with pictures before school start, but that isn't all. I am still walking them to class each day. Yes, all the other parents have stopped, but we can do it the whole week. I choose to because I can and because it is HOT outside. I want to enjoy the A/C for a while. We had to get there a little early today because Lexi started Safety Patrol. She has it for the next 9 weeks.

Second Day of Fourth Grade

Yes, it is important to annoy your kids by taking lots of picture the entire first week of school. Hey, I bought all those new clothes...
