President of the Beehives

Look at these beautiful girls. They met today (first Sunday of 2019). They are in the class called Beehives. Lexi was chosen to be their president, which means she needs to love them, watch over them at church/school/wherever, plan activities, and be their leader. She has chosen Avery to be her first counselor. Eliza to be her second counselor. Ginger to be her secretary. These girls are going to go far in life.

Last Sunday of 2018

Temple Trip

The youth from church went to the temple this evening. I sent Lexi with quite a few names. She rode with Andrea. Lexi seems to enjoy it every time. 

YW in Excellence 2018

It is YW in Excellence tonight. It is when the young women from church gather together to review their goals and celebrate their accomplishments from the past year. The theme was Wizard of Oz and going home. 

Church Trunk or Treat

It was the church trunk-or-treat tonight. Lexi spent the whole night with her friends - Serenity, Hazel, and Brock. She didn't cooperate with me taking a picture, but fortunately I had friends there that took some and forwarded them to me.

Conference

Every 6 months, we watch general conference, which is broadcast by our church. It is a nice break from going to church and a good way to be connected with the prophet and apostles. They made some exciting announcements like church is going to be cut back to only 2 hours on Sunday starting in January. That is HUGE! They also said they'll be building 12 more temples. They have never announced that many at one time before. Our new president is on fire. 

Party for Eliza

Eliza, Lexi's friend from church, has a big birthday party every 4 years. She just turned 12, so this one of the those years. They had a scavenger hunt at La Centerra, which is an outdoor shopping mall near us. The girls had a blast!!!

Singing in Church

The Young Women (YM) sang "I am a Child of God" in church today. They harmonized and everything. Afterward, their leaders took these pictures. 

Typhoon Texas

We went to Typhoon Texas today with a bunch of friends from church. We all had friends in our age group. Lexi had fun with Eliza, Rachel, and Elizabeth.

Swing Dancing

This evening for the youth church activity, they brought in a couple to teach swing dancing. We had two wards (congregations) meet together to pull it off. They kept the kids rotating so it wasn't so awkward for them.

Benjamin was giving me the stink eye because he thought I was video taping him. Nope, just snapping pictures of everyone.

Party for Ailia

Lexi got together with the younger girls to celebrate Ailia's birthday. She celebrated Ailia's big sister's birthday on Tuesday with the older girls. I guess swim birthday celebrations with church friends is the theme for this week. What a great way to enjoy summer!

Sister Hickman made a vanilla bean cake - probably one of the best cakes I have ever had. Yum!!!
