Lost Tooth #2

This evening, when Lexi was in the bathroom ready to brush her teeth, she asked me to see how wiggly her tooth was. Apparently, it was so wiggly that it fell out. At least, this way, it didn't get swallowed or lost.

Christmas Morning 2011

Lexi and Jordan had a great Christmas morning. They both got the main thing they wanted and more. Lexi's heartfelt request was for a white Fur Real Puppy that has a pink leash and can be walked. Santa must have heard her requests because he brought the exact one she has been dreaming about. She also got a bike from Steve since her knees were hitting the handle bars of her old one. Jordan picked out a Maxi doll for her named Avery. I made her a dress with kitties on it. She also had gifts from Grandma. Needless to say, she was thrilled.

Christmas Eve 2011

Lexi and Jordan are very excited for Santa to come tomorrow. I made festive pj pants for them this year. Lexi also asked me to take a picture of her loose tooth. Soon she’ll have lost two. For Christmas, Lexi has been talking about a white Fur Real puppy. It is white, had a pink collar, and can walk & bark. This is her idea of a substitute for a real puppy/Travis.

Lexi was actually excited to go to bed tonight. She doesn't put up much of a resistance any night, but tonight she was anxiously waiting to go to bed. We did the ritual and I said good night. After that, she got up every five minutes to tell me that she couldn't sleep. Finally (after about 4 declarations of insomnia), I told her that Santa wouldn't stop here because he could probably hear her. I said she had to pretend she was asleep. I guess that worked.

Nativity Play

Tonight, we went to our friends' house. We started the festivities with dinner, which was homemade soups and rolls. Then we went on a walk of the neighborhood to see the lights. Next, we had the big event. We changed into our costumes to reenact the nativity. Our parts and the song selections were e-mailed to us a few days ago, so we could practice. Lexi got to play the part of an Angel. She loved being beautiful with the girls. The last thing we did was eat decorated sugar cookies. Yum!

Voice Book

This evening, we received a special package in the mail. It was a book from Grandma Margie. It wasn't an ordinary book though. This book allows the sender to record their own voice reading it. A bell dings when it is time to turn the page. This allows the kids to go through the book and have Grandma reading to them. They love it.

Weekend with Dad

This weekend, I made a quick trip to Miami for my company's Christmas party. It has been 4.5 years since I last saw them. Jordan and Lexi got to spend the weekend with their dad. They dropped me off at the airport on Saturday morning. Then, they stopped by his work really quickly. There was a little Christmas festival at the park near my house, so they spent the afternoon there. They got to ride trains and sit on Santa's lap. Today (Sunday), they went back to the airport to pick me up a little after noon. Their dad e-mailed me pictures from his phone during the trip, so I am posting them below.

Church Christmas Party

Our church Christmas party was tonight. We had a big dinner. The kids all sat at tables while the teenagers served and entertained them. Then they went off into other rooms to do crafts. They brought them back to see Santa and watch the Grinch play. Lexi loved being around her friends and doing crafts.

Painted Snowman

Sometimes Lexi brings home artwork that seems a little more special than some of her other creations. There is just something about this piece that I like. It could be the painted snowman, the string of lights, the falling snowflakes, or the bird, but I think it is the whole thing.

Trip with her Best Friend

Today at school, Lexi wrote a story and drew of picture of a trip to Paris. Her best friend, Dominique, is with her. Apparently, they are going to see the Eiffel Tower.

New Christmas Skirt

When Grandma came last weekend, she brought lots of gifts including this new Christmas skirt she made Lexi. It was the perfect thing to wear to church today. We love the Christmas cowboy boots on it.

Lunch at Pam's

Yesterday, we drove out to the country to have lunch with one of Grandma Margie's friends. She and her husband have recently completed building a house. We got a tour, had a wonderful lunch, and enjoyed spending time with them. Her husband even got out a little John Deer for the kids to drive.
