This was Lexi's first opportunity to go to girls' camp with our church. It starts when you're twelve. She was so excited and even chose to go there instead of join Jordan and me in Banff this week. I had a feeling she would and I knew it would be a great experience for her. She loved every minute of it and wishes she was back there. The tight bonds that were formed warm my heart. She has known many of these girls for the past 7 years, but this really solidified their friendship.
Plus, this was a great test of her maturity. I have always known she was independent, but this really gave her a chance to spread her wings. I never spend time away from my kids. She had her first whole week without her family. We were out of the country and phones aren't allowed at camp. She was able to focus on what was really important. I can see amazing growth in her and I love it.
