3rd Day of 5th Grade
Yesterday after school, we had to go shoe shopping. I thought I would be able to get away without buying new shoes for Lexi just yet. She had quite a few new ones in the spring. Sadly, her toes were scrunched up. I guess she had a foot growth spurt this month. She is now wearing a ladies size 6 or 5.5 in Converse. She got to wear her new shoes today.
I like this outfit. I think it is the only one that I picked out. I bought it online and surprised her. Good thing she likes it. She is getting to that picky pre-teen stage.

New Scarf
Lexi is wearing a new scarf that she was given yesterday at her birthday party. She looked so cute dressed up for church that I decided to take a picture. Also, church starts at 11 am this year. Last year, we were at 9 am, so this is much better. It is probably my favorite time. Next year, we'll start at 1 pm.

Last Time with These Boots
On the way to school, Lexi announced that her boots were too small. I figured that I better take once last picture. These boots are no longer made for walking. *notice the photo bombing arm of Jordan. Maybe he is celebrating that he'll be getting these boots.

Black & White Day
Every month, the school board picks a characteristic for the students to learn about and develop. They also pick a color that everyone wears to remind them about the theme. Today was wear black & white day for individualism. This makes me laugh because dressing the same truly magnifies how different we are.

Matching Outfits
I bought matching outfits for Lexi and Eden to have for school. It was a good deal and they were cute. The t-shirts say, "It is hard to be cool" in French at least that is what Google search told me. These two girls will be in Fourth grade this year. In January, they will be turning 10. Time sure flies. Alma went to his high school reunion tonight. I am sure he is having a blast chatting with everyone.

Sunday Independence
Lexi was tired of sitting home with us while Jordan isn't feeling well. Since it is Sunday, I asked if she wanted to go to church. She was definitely up for that. We drove her to church and I found a friends for her to sit by. We came back and got her after church. She looked so cute in the outfit that Grandma and Papa Malcolm brought back from Hawaii.

Christmas is here so Lexi is wearing her Christmas skirts to church. She picked out her cowgirl one today and paired it with her boots.

All That Style
When we got home from church, Lexi put this outfit on. It proves that she can be quite a character. She is definitely all that.

Sporty Clothes
Since Lexi started soccer, she has become more interested in sporty clothes. I got her this outfit because it has the sports element along with a little sparkle. I gave her this high french braid. It seems a little more popular lately since Frozen came out. Whenever she has her hair like this, little girls tell her she looks like Elsa. She says it is annoying, but I think part of her likes it.

Blue for Courtesy
Today is the first Wednesday of the month, which means the kids get to wear a certain color and learn about an important characteristic. This month, it is blue for courtesy. They got an extra special treat today too. They had an entourage on the way to school that included Travis, Grandma Margie, Papa Malcolm and me. Talk about a fun send off.

Ice Day
Yesterday, school was cancelled. It was declared an ice day. Rain & freezing temperatures don't mix in an area that doesn't have equipment to deal with it or drivers that have experience with ice. That means the kids were home for my birthday. Unfortunately, I had work to do. Jordan went 5th-wheel shopping with Grandma Margie and Papa Malcolm. Lexi stayed home and entertained herself.
Monday night, Lexi went shopping with Grandma to buy me a birthday present. Lexi has been wanting someone to take her shopping to buy me presents for the past two years (Christmas & birthdays). They bought some jewelry and Grandma bought this shirt & necklace for Lexi.

Back to School
School is back on starting today. Strange that they start on a Tuesday. It was a chilly morning, but Lexi insisted on wearing shorts. I decided to allow it since it would be quite warm in the afternoon.

Christmas Tree Shopping
After the choir concert, we went shopping. Our first trip was to the mall. I had planned to get Lexi a coat for Christmas. In a normal year, the weather doesn't get cold until after Christmas. Sometimes only a few days here & there. We've had quite a few cold fronts come through already though, so I decided to get it for her today. She was very pleased with the coat we found.
Once that task was completed, we went Christmas tree shopping.
When we got home, I hauled the tree in and brought the decorations down from the attic. We enjoyed decorating it.
I snapped a few pictures and then set up the timer to get a few of all of us. This one was my favorite. I even like it better than the one we have for our Christmas cards.

Fuzzy Pink Cold Front
We had a cold front come through. It was only 36 degrees on our walk to school this morning. Lexi asked if she could wear this hat. She looked so cute, I just had to snap a few pictures.
