Easter Baskets

It is Easter Sunday and the kids were very excited to find their baskets. They got swimsuits, clothes, candy, and snacks. Lexi also got a game - Cat Stacking. We have a visitor this weekend - Lucy.

Have you ever wondered why I have less pictures of Lexi lately? She has become the queen of avoiding pictures. She turns, holds her phone up in the way, complains a LOT, and generally ruins my pictures of her. So - there will be less for a while until she finishes this annoying stage (hopefully, soon).

Candy Poster

Lexi and Jordan got up early this morning and made a candy poster for me.  It was Lexi's idea and she did most of the poster, but she had Jordan help her.

Church Trunk-or-Treat

Our church had their annual Trunk-or-Treat tonight.  We got to wear our costumes and spend time with friends from church.  For most of the night, Lexi hung out with her best church friend, Heather.  They laughed and joked all night.  Last week, Heather's mom and I had talked about costumes.  Heather hadn't picked anything out yet.  I told her Lexi wanted to be a peacock.  Tonight, Heather's mom had told me that when Heather had heard what Lexi was going to be, she begged desperately to be the same thing.  Her mom wouldn't let her copy though.  I told her we wouldn't have minded.  Heather was a rock star instead.

Lexi is very picky when it comes to candy, so she usually doesn't load up on as much as Jordan.  I think she had about 1/2 as much as he did and she didn't mind one bit that I planned to throw most of it away.  For her, Halloween is about dressing up and having fun.

Trick-or-Treating 2010

Yesterday, we got dressed up in our Halloween costumes and went trick-or-treating along with Grandma and Aunt Paige. This activity is non-existant in our neighborhood, so we went to two areas that each had a house belonging to my mom's friends. We went down a few blocks in the first area. Then headed to the next area that is always fun because they decorate their houses so cute. After a few houses there, Lexi announced that she had too much candy and that we should go home. She was right of course, so we did.

Decorating for Christmas

Instead of going shopping on Black Friday, we went to a local nursery and bought our Christmas tree. We spent the long weekend decorating for Christmas and for Jordan's Christmas themed birthday party. Lexi really enjoys preparing for festivities. In the picture above, you can see that she pulled out a santa cap & stockings. The strange thing is that she found a piece of old chocolate candy in one of the stockings. She cried when I wouldn't let her eat it. She was so upset and in a very dramatic way told me that Santa brought that candy for HER so she should eat it. I wanted to laugh. Being a mean mom, I didn't let her have it. I just threw it away. However, I found her a piece of Halloween candy to make up for it.
