My Daddy Is A Giant

A few weeks ago, Lexi started calling her dad a giant. When we were at the library last week, she picked up a book and handed it to me. When I read the title, My Daddy is a Giant, I couldn't believe it. Of course, she has insisted that we read it for both naptime and bedtime every day. Yesterday before taking it back to the library, I decided to take a picture and a little video of her with the book.

Matching Cousins

Cousins: Miriam, Eden, Kaylie, Ammon, Zak & Rachel

Lexi has a new dress that matches her cousins' dresses, thanks to Grandma Margie. Of course, her cousins have sleeves for the Montana version of the dress.

4th of July 2008

Since Lexi is a huge fan of music and dancing in front of large crowds, we celebrated the 4th at La Centerra. Unlike me, she has never shied away from being the center of attention. She just runs right to the middle of an opening and laps, dances, mingles, etc. We all had fun listening to the band that played Southern Rock. That was the highlight of the evening because the fireworks were just ok. Perhaps, we were spoiled in Miami. There we got to watch them being shot off over of the water. The kids enjoyed the show though.

Lexi and Jordan seem to enjoy each other more & more every month. They sure like to giggle together.

My favorite little holy terror has been on fire this week... lucky me.

Veggies & Junk

Lexi is one of the rare silly kids that likes vegetables just as much as junk food. I can't feel TOO bad about letting her eat snack when she finishes off the healthy stuff.

Switching Rooms

When we moved here a month ago, Lexi was given the bigger room out of the kids rooms. Mainly because she was older and because the previous occupants had painted the smaller room green in anticipation of their twin boys. Our plan was to paint her room pink and yellow, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. It is a good thing we have been too busy to do that or it would have made our decision to switch rooms more difficult.

Her room has been a little bit of a problem. The bigger room is over the garage and has a window that looks out to the driveway. No matter how many times she got in trouble, Lexi couldn't ignore the temptation to crumple up the blinds to see if her dad's truck was here. She would also wake up when he hit the beeper to unlock the door. We're hoping that moving to the next room will take care of the problem. It has only been a few hours, but so far she seems to be enjoying the switch. The test will come tomorrow morning.

Summer Yum

This heat wave of a summer has been tough to handle, but popsicles sure help. Just ask Miss Blue Face. -Yes, I put her in the high chair when eating popsicles so that there is no way this color ends up on our carpet or anywhere else.

Father's Day

We didn't do very much for Father's Day. Besides the fact that Steve has been working WAY too much, he was in a deep funk. Father's Day is bitter sweet for him because his mom's died the Friday before his first one. It has been two years now.

Our weekend was far from exciting. He slept a lot, so I took the kids to the waterpark to give him quiet time. Besides gifts and cards, I made his favorite meal for dinner (lasagna). Hopefully, it was the perfect medicine.

Even More Nursery Rhymes

More nursery rhymes from Lexi (not perfect, but perfectly funny):

Sleeping In?

Silly dad still thinks that sleeping in on the weekend is a possibility. Lexi makes sure that doesn't happen. Once I get her up (open her door) and take her to the bathroom, dad is fair game. He gets bounced on, hugged, kisses, tickled and just about anything a two year old can come up with. I put Jordan on the bed to help make it even more fun.

Another Nursery Rhyme

I have a feeling there are going to be several upcoming posts on nursery rhymes. At lunch today, Lexi was reciting a few I had no idea that she knew. So...more to come.

Memorizing Songs & Nursery Rhymes

When you have a child like Lexi, it is difficult to keep their mind stimulated. She knows a bunch of songs and we have started working on nursery rhymes. Actually, I recently bought some nursery rhyme books so that Steve can read them to her when he puts her to bed. She now recognizes all of them and can fill in spots of a few. She even recites a couple, but not perfectly.

Princess & the Pea Party

We were invited to a Princess Party for our friend Avery. Lexi was very excited about being able to dress up. The theme of the party was the Princess in the Pea, so lots of games and activities were centered around that. We all had a great time.

Little Dolls

Lexi is only a little interested in dolls unless there is a matching dress involved.

Accident Prone

As you can see, Lexi has quite a few booboos. She got the one on her face when she ran into a tree. Her continual scraped knees come from falling down in various places. Running can be so fun. Don't feel too bad for her though. She cries a little and then quickly asks for a bandaid.

Puzzles

Since I started working again, I have had internet and computer issues. I haven't been posting much. Part of the problem is that I have become dependent on pictures & videos for the kids' blogs and my work tower doesn't have a card reader. When we move to the new house, I'll get both computers set up. For now, here are some pictures that I took last week.

Photographer

Back in February, when we went to see the trail riders, a photographer snapped a bunch of photos of the kids. She recently gave us CDs that she made and I thought I would share a few photos, mainly because my mom is interested. If you decide to click on the last one, you'll see that Jordan needed his nose wiped. Oh well!
