Halloween Block Party

Last night we went to a block party that one of Grandma Margie's friends was hosting. They went all out with games, a magician, a fortune teller, reptile show, bouncy castles, a DJ and great food. I should admit that half of the fun was getting dressed up in our Peter Pan Costumes for the party.

SeaWorld Kind of Day

I have been working a lot lately and giving up on things like sleep and long outings. Yesterday, I decided to take the kids for a quick trip to SeaWorld. **Big Surprise** Right? Ok, so we go there a lot. Sometimes I don’t even take my camera so it is worse than you think.

Yesterday was different. Good thing I took it because Lexi had a flamingo encounter that just thrilled her. Every morning, the flamingos go for a walk. I have never seen them interact with people until yesterday. One of the trainers said that we could sit on the curb and let the flamingos play in our hair. Lexi was so excited. She was the only kid there that would do it. As a reward, they gave her a pink feather.

Winterized Ballet Outfit

Lexi was been wanting to wear her ballet sweater and leg warmers, but it hasn't been cold enough. I offered to put them on her and take pictures before ballet class. She liked that idea.

Halloween Drawing

Lexi loves to draw and color. She does several pictures everyday. Yesterday, I wrote "Halloween" on the top of her paper and then started working on my laptop. When she finished this Halloween picture of our family, she brought it to me. I was surprised to see that she had written "mom" and "dods" (dad). I labeled the picture:

Her Own Video

When Lexi saw me taping Jordan this afternoon, she wanted her own video. Here it is:

Ghost Story Bonfire

I don't know exactly when the plan was hatched, but sometime probably on Saturday Lexi came up with a great idea that she shared with Grandma Margie. She told her that she thinks we should light the candles and turn out all the lights and tell scarey stories. Grandma loved the idea, especially since she LOVES telling ghost stories just like her mom did. She shared the idea with Papa Malcolm who thought a bonfire on the beach would make the idea even better. So...Sunday afternoon everything was packed up for a great bonfire evening at the beach. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, smores, and potato salad. Once it got dark, the last thing we did was tell very mild, mostly fun, ghost stories. Lexi even made up one of her own about ghosts in the clouds and witches and spiders and everything.

Spooktacular SeaWorld

Yesterday afternoon (Saturday), we went to Sea World. I know it isn't a surprise. We go there a lot. We are going to be going even more over the next few months because our annual passes expire on Dec 31st and because they have lots of festive things planned (like the Thriller scene in the movie clip below).

As usual, we had a good time. The kids got to pose with characters, which Lexi LOVES. We also made it onto Shamu Rocks' big screen. Like a sporting event, they often show fans on the screen. We all waved and looked at the screen, but Lexi and Jordan were more interested in the light-up hot chocolate mugs we had just bought for them.

Wild Animal Park

We went to the Wild Animal Park yesterday (Friday), which is a little over half an hour North of us. The kids had so much fun. Lexi loved posing for pictures, pointing out animals, the playground (until she accidentally got kicked in the eye by a boy), and eating ice cream cones. Her favorite part of the day was the petting zoo. There was one deer that kept licking her. I caught a little of it in the video below. She said it was because he liked her. I wonder if there was still ice cream on her face.
