Shrek Prep

Last night, we painted our nails the new "Who the Shrek Are You" color from Opi. Can you tell we are excited about seeing the movie? Anyway, Lexi took the opportunity to entertain us while hers were drying:

Ice Cream and Sunset at the Beach

Last night, we went to the beach for dinner and ice cream. It was a rare beautiful night. For Southerners, California is a bit chilly especially in the evenings. We had a good time.

Quick Trip to SW

Last week was crazy. We drove back from Megan's on Monday and pretty much had to spend the next few days in the house because Jordan had a fever. We were all a little stir crazy today, but I still wanted to avoid too much direct contact with other kids. Since it was Paige's day off, we decided to do a quick trip to SeaWorld. We were only there about two hours. Lexi and Paige rode the helicopter similuation. We all saw the artic animals and played for a little while in Elmo's playground.

Sunday in Fort Irwin

Sunday in Fort Irwin was pretty laid back. We went to church with Megan in the afternoon. Lexi and Jordan played in the backyard and on the trampoline until the kids returned a little after 6pm. Lexi also drew a picture of her and their dog, Aubbey.

Exploring Fort Irwin

During our visit to Fort Irwin, we got to experience a military base. My cousin's kids were with their dad on Saturday & Sunday, so we explored with Megan. In the morning, we went to the Arts & Crafts building. Lexi & Jordan got to paint ceramics. Lexi picked out a jewelry box and painted it hot pink. Later, we met up with her kids at the park. When they left, Jordan took a nap and Lexi jumped on the trampoline and played with their dog, Aubbey. In the evening, we went swimming at one of the pools and then ate at Taco Bell.

Cousin Aurora

We went to visit my cousin Megan and her kids this weekend. Here are a few pictures of Lexi and her second cousin, Aurora. They had just finished popsicles. Aurora is about 6 months older than Lexi, so she'll be five in July. These two had lots of fun playing this weekend.

Shamu Love

When you go to SeaWorld as much as we do, you would tend to think that the experience is going to be practically the same every time, but it isn't. Every time something quite surprising seems to stand out. Usually, it has to do with an animal encounter. I can remember a special moment that Lexi had with the flamingos once. Other times, we have enjoyed the manatees, polar bears, walrus, etc. This time, the Orcas in the viewing tank stole the show. There was a mother and her son that stayed near the glass for the longest time. The kids got to see them very close up. It was amazing.
