Twin's Birthday Party

Today, we celebrated Kacy's and Cole's 8th birthday at Pump It Up.  The kids all had a great time and managed to wear themselves out.

The age group Lexi is in for choir got selected to do a special Christmas performance at Outdoor World this evening.  Santa was going to be arriving and they wanted 30 kids to be performing for it.  The choir quickly learned a few Christmas songs and we all showed up.

Hot Air Balloon

The temperatures have been up and down here.  We caught a little break in the heat, which usually means hot air balloon sightings.  This balloon in the picture was very close to us this morning on our walk to school.  It was actually closer than it looks.  We could see that the guy in it had gray hair and was wearing a white shirt.

Wear Orange Day

Today is wear orange day at the elementary school where Lexi & Jordan go.  I took pictures of them on the way to school and then again on our evening walk.

Skinny Jean Fashion

Some days, Lexi feels that she needs to be at the height of fashion.  On those days, she changes her clothes way too many times.  This was one of those days.  She is all about skinny jeans, because she believes that it is important for jeans to be snug around the thighs.  I sure love her, but girls can be such a pain.  :)

Red Ribbon Week

In our area, the schools aren't allowed to celebrate "holidays," but they find ways around it.  Some school lets the kids dress up as characters from a book on the day of Halloween.  Lexi & Jordan's school isn't quite that exciting, but they do have fun things all week with the theme of "red ribbon say no to drugs."  Monday, they had wear red day.

Tuesday was wear slippers day.

Wednesday was hat day.

I didn't take a picture on Thursday or Friday.  Thursday was silly sock day.  Friday was school spirit day.

Trunk-or-Treat

This evening, our church had their annual trunk-or-treat.  The kids were very excited of course.  We had sprinkles through-out the day, but it cleared just long enough for this activity to be perfect.  As usual, this starts with potluck chili and cornbread.  We sat by the kids' favorite church friends to eat.

Lexi & Jordan ready to collect candy

Heather & Lexi insisted that they were old enough to walk around the parking lot by themselves this year.  I walked around with Jordan.  I didn't protest too much since I could basically see the girls whole time.  Heather's parents could too.

Halloween Party

Some of our closest friends (Kacy & Cole) had a Halloween Party this evening.  Lexi and Jordan were excited to go and to dress up in their costumes.  They went as members of Steam Powered Giraffe.  Lexi went as a Walter Girl (like Aunt Paige) and Jordan went as The Spine.

The party was really fun.  We ate, socialized, played games, touched slimy body parts, and squirted silly string at each other.  I took a few pictures.

First Report Card for Second Grade

As you can see, Lexi is doing very well in second grade.  Most importantly, she is enjoying it and loves spending time with her friends each day.  Every evening, I hear ALL the details of her day.  She is fun like that.

Hat & Sunglasses Day

Lexi is feeling completely normal, so she went back to school today.  It was hat and glasses day for her class.  She definitely didn't want to miss that.

Came Home Early

I got a call from the school nurse today.  Lexi wasn't feeling well.  I went to get her.  As we were walking out, she told me she puked on her desk while taking a math test.  Her teacher walked her to the nurses office holding a garbage can the entire way.  The stomach flu has been going around.  Fortunately, I saw no signs of illness all day.
