Ice Day

Yesterday, school was cancelled.  It was declared an ice day.  Rain & freezing temperatures don't mix in an area that doesn't have equipment to deal with it or drivers that have experience with ice.  That means the kids were home for my birthday.  Unfortunately, I had work to do.  Jordan went 5th-wheel shopping with Grandma Margie and Papa Malcolm.  Lexi stayed home and entertained herself.

Monday night, Lexi went shopping with Grandma to buy me a birthday present. Lexi has been wanting someone to take her shopping to buy me presents for the past two years (Christmas & birthdays).  They bought some jewelry and Grandma bought this shirt & necklace for Lexi.

Birthday Dinner Celebration

Lexi has been asking to go to a restaurant with a hibachi grill for a few months.  Actually, she wanted "to go to one of those places where they cook in front of you."  I love those places.  Grandma Margie & Papa Malcolm offered to take us to a local one to celebrate both Lexi's & my birthdays.  It was amazing of course.  They loved the poof of fire that came off the grill in the beginning.  The food was wonderful too.

8th Birthday Party

Lexi's big 8th birthday party was today.  She hasn't had a big party in a few years, so we decided to really celebrate this one.  We had it at Mason Skate.  Where else?  There were 19 kids at the party including her and Jordan.  Everyone, including Grandma Margie & Malcolm, seemed to have a great time.

MLK Day

Grandma Margie, Papa Malcolm & Travis arrived on Friday.  We had a nice weekend.  Fortunately, the kids were out of school today for MLK.  My mom and I walked them over to play on the playground and of course Travis came with us.  

Upcoming Baptism

Lexi has been asking for over a year to be baptized.  The date is set for February 1st.

Warm at the Park

We just had to take advantage of the warm weather today.  I took the kids to a park.  I like this park because it has a sidewalk around the whole playground.  I can get a little exercise while they have fun.  

Report Card

As you can see, Lexi is doing very well.  School definitely agrees with her.

Holiday Artwork

Lexi did a lot of drawing over the holidays.  I decided to snap a few photos.

Skating Rink

The kids have been wanting to go skating again.  Unfortunately, the cheap night at the rink is on Wednesdays. Christmas and New Years both happened to fall on that day.  I decided to take them this evening.  They don't have homework this week, so it worked out well.

Back to School

School is back on starting today.  Strange that they start on a Tuesday.  It was a chilly morning, but Lexi insisted on wearing shorts.  I decided to allow it since it would be quite warm in the afternoon.

First Sunday of 2014

Lexi wore one of her new dresses to church today.  I had to take a picture since the kids are matchy-matchy.

L & L Sleepover

Lucy has been wanting to have a sleepover with Lexi for a while, so I said that she could spend the night tonight.  We had dinner and watched a movie.  I set up a bed for her in Lexi's room.

New Years Eve Celebration

We celebrated the coming of the New Year with some of our very close friends.  Gram & Papa invited their grandkids & my kids to sleep over so we wouldn't have to wrap up the party early.  The kids had lots of fun and then got into their pjs and watched a movie while the adults played card games.  After midnight, the parents of all the kids left.  We all had a great night.  Of course, I wish I would have taken more pictures.
