Camden's Percy Jackson Bday Pary

We had quite a busy evening.  We left the school carnival early to make it to most of Camden's birthday party.  Besides being great friends, the theme was Percy Jackson.  How could we miss a party like that? It was all about camp half blood and the kids were competing demigods.  They had banners for decoration.  They made up fun games so the blue and red teams to compete for pearls.  They even had water-themed cupcakes.

School Carnival 2014

This evening, we went to the kids' school carnival.  We didn't stay long because one of our close friends had a birthday party that we had to get to.  We probably would have skipped this, but the kids wanted to go and I had already bought the tickets.  This was also the first year I bought the shirts for the event.  We went a little early and did quite a few quick things.

Eight is Great

Lexi's picture is on one of the boards at church.  All of the kids turning eight this year are featured.  They had a lady that is a photographer snap the pictures one day.

Chicken Spirit Night

The kids' school had spirit night at Chick-fil-A this evening.  A portion of the profits go to the school.  They have several different spirit nights throughout the year.  Most are from Papa Johns.  This one includes teacher contests every half hour.  We saw 2 contests.  The principal was part of a nugget eating contest.  Lexi's teacher was in a lemon squeezing contest.  I don't love these kinds of events (too crowded), but the kids do.

Astros Game

We have some good friends, Juan & Sonja, visiting from Florida this week.  Juan is a huge Astros fan, so they took us to a game tonight.  I found some Astros shirts on sale at Academy.  We had our gear on and were ready for a fun night.  Jordan and Lexi were very excited.  Sadly, they did not win, but the kids learned a lot about baseball and we all enjoyed it.

First Soccer Practice

Lexi had her first soccer practice this morning.  Her coach is named Coach Rama. They picked the name Hawks.

Swim Party

Lexi was invited to a birthday party for her friend, Lauren.  She had a swim party in her backyard.  It is still a little on the chilly side here for swimming (about 80 degrees), so they heated up the pool. Lexi got to wear one of her new swimsuits.

Guess which kids are registered to play soccer from the middle of April to the end of May.  We went shopping today to get their socks, shin guards, and cleats.

Charts & Posters

Grandma Margie left a roll of paper for the kids.  Lexi has enjoyed making lots of different charts and posters.  This is one she made today.

Brazos Bend for Spring Break

What would Spring Break be without outdoor fun?  Hopefully, we never find out.  Today, we went to Brazos Bend State Park with some friends.  We got to hike around, laugh, talk, and point out alligators, turtles, and birds.

Spring Break

Spring break is here.  We walked over to the park today.  The kids needed some sunshine, fresh air, and chance to get their energy out.

2nd Grade Spring Party

Next week is spring break.  The kids' school likes to kick it off with a Spring Party before letting them go.  The second graders had theirs this morning at 9:45.  It was a little chilly today.  This year has been much colder than usual.  The kids still were happy to get snow cones though.  Lexi chose wedding cake and cherry blast.  She said it tasted wonderful.  These parties are all about the parents standing around watching the kids do things.  Lexi played and then a bunch of girls gathered around the DJ to do line dancing.

Spring School Pictures

It is Spring school pictures and class pictures day.  Strange that now days with everyone taking millions of pictures of their kids that they need 2 different school picture days.  They also do the class photos today.  At least for the Spring one, they send you the pictures so you can decide if you want to buy them.  Unlike the Fall one, where you send in the money then they give you the pictures.  Either way, it is difficult to refuse.

Grandma & Papa Left

Grandma Margie and Papa left this morning.  Lexi and Jordan shed a few tears.  After they left, Lexi decided to draw a few posters for them.
