Tex Ren Fest 2015

We went to the Tex Ren Fest today. There is always lots of talents to see, amazing people watching, yummy food, and more. It is the main reason my cousin and aunt are here this weekend. The kids could have stayed forever.

Cousins at School Carnival

My Aunt Sue (mom's sister), cousin Kim, and Kim's daughters came to visit us for the weekend. Lexi and Jordan had a school festival last night, so we all went. The above picture is Reagan, Jordan, Lexi and London. They had fun. Lexi is on student council, so she had to spend part of the night running the bake sale.

Elizabeth's Birthday

Lexi went to a birthday party for Elizabeth, a friend from church. Elizabeth's mom and I are good friends. I just adore her. She had a fun party with crafts and lots of little girls, many that Lexi knew.

Cluster of Kids

Sometimes, we have a whole cluster of kids walking with us to and from school. Most of them are latchkey kids so I watch out for them. It takes a village to raise a kid and someone has to be around to do it. I am lucky that I have the flexibility to.

Halloweened Out

Rain was forecast for today and it happened. Good thing that we had really maximized Halloween this year. I was pretty much over it by today. We stuck around and kept it low key. Grandma & Papa came over. Grandma started teaching Lexi how to quilt. She also brought the kids attachable heel skates that she bought during their trip to China.

Smaller Trunk or Treat

This evening, we drove up to Spring to do another Trunk-or-Treat. Papa's son-in-law, Jason, owns a car dealership that had big Halloween plans. The kids got dressed up and enjoyed getting more treats and prizes from the trunks of cars. They also loved seeing their little cousin, Jackson, dressed up as an Ewok. Later, we went out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant.

Trunk or Treat 2015

We took Grandma Margie and Papa Malcolm with us to the church Trunk-Or-Treat tonight. There was a parade of costumes, loads of candy, hot dogs, and games. The best part is being with friends. The girl pictured above as Thing 1 is Lexi's friend, Ahnyka.

Grandma & Papa for Halloween

Lexi and Jordan wore Halloween shirts to school today. This evening, Grandma and Papa took us to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. They will be visiting Texas for the next few months. They have their RV parked on the north side of Katy, so we'll get to see them often.

School Picture Day

Lexi and Jordan have school pictures today. I decided to take a few quick pictures in case their school ones don't turn out. It is fairly humid, so Lexi's waves might disappear.

Walking to School

Some of our neighbors asked if their girls could walk to school with us a few days a week. Their parents are teachers in a different school district. We will be seeing more of Sofia and Issa.

Last Time with These Boots

On the way to school, Lexi announced that her boots were too small. I figured that I better take once last picture. These boots are no longer made for walking. *notice the photo bombing arm of Jordan. Maybe he is celebrating that he'll be getting these boots.

Homecoming Parade

I found out that one of the high schools near us was having a homecoming parade today. I grabbed the kids and headed over to it. It isn't the high school that they are mapped to go to, but it is one where we know lots of families. It is actually the rival school to ours. The high school I went to is a rival to both of these, so what does it matter?  We'll just enjoy the parade.
