We celebrated Abby's 7th birthday today. She wanted a game night. We were divided into groups and each group picked a game to play for about 10 minutes. Then the groups were shuffled and another game was picked. It was really fun. My kids love playing games.

Thanksgiving 2014
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had been invited to spend it with friends that have kids the same age as Lexi & Jordan.
Kids' Table
Lexi & Lauren
After dinner, the kids went outside to jump on the trampoline and play. Later, they had a disco karaoke party upstairs.

Harvest Festival
I went to the school today to watch the kids celebrate Harvest Festival. The kids decorated sugar cookies to look like turkeys. They also played games.

Fashion Drawings
Lexi drew these fashion characters and really got into it. They turned out so cute I decided to take pictures.

Allergy Remedy
This morning, I sat down to have breakfast with my kids and noticed that Lexi had red puffy eyes. I mentioned it and she told me that she had been
rubbing them because they were bothering her. Of course, I realized that she was
suffering from allergies. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to
document the effectiveness of our natural allergy shot.
Recipe:
1 shot glass with
water
2 drops of
Lemon
2 drops of
Lavender
2 drops of
Peppermint
She downed it
quickly. After breakfast, which was 15 minutes later, I noticed that she was
completely back to normal. It could have been faster, but that is when I made
it a point to look. Of course, I took another photo.

Veterans Day Performance
The third graders at Lexi's school have been working on their Veteran's Day performance for months. They learned lots of patriotic songs. The kids were asked to invite their family along with veterans. I told Lexi that we didn't know any veterans that live nearby, so she asked if we could ask a friend from church. She just knew that his ultra-patriotic self would LOVE it. Fortunately, his grandsons go to the same school. I mentioned Lexi's desire to his daughter and she handled the part of inviting him. He even took us to dinner and we had a nice evening.

Love Chart
I found this chart that Lexi made. It has a list of things she loves about people. She wrote about me, Gandma Margie, Papa Malcolm, Travis, Jordan, Aunt Paige, cousins, her teacher and her friends.

Friend's Baptism
We went to the church today for a baptism. We arrived a little early, so we stopped at a nearby park and had lunch. It is slightly chilly, which felt really nice. The hot summer weather is disappearing.
Candy Poster
Lexi and Jordan got up early this morning and made a candy poster for me. It was Lexi's idea and she did most of the poster, but she had Jordan help her.

Halloween Trick-or-Treating
It is Halloween and time to put on the costumes again. When it was time for pictures, Jordan was a little grumpy so Lexi did her best to cheer him up. It worked like a charm of course. We were all much happier.
They didn't want me to be a "boring mom" this year, so I added a dab of gore to my neck.
We went trick-or-treating with some good friends. Savannah was Cindy-Lou Who. Lexi was a 3-Ring Leader. Maddie was a ballerina. Sam was a construction worker. McKenna was an Indian Princess. Jordan was a Lion Tamer/Strong Man.

Anti-Bullying Poster
Some of the older kids at school have been asked to make a poster for either anti-bullying or anti-drugs. This is what Lexi came up with. It is a couple of female rock stars singing about not bullying. This whole week of school is dedicated to both.

Trunk-or-Treat

Our church trunk-or-treat was tonight. We picked costumes as circus folks. Lexi is a 3-ring leader and Jordan is a strong man/lion tamer. I made Lexi's shirt a few weekends ago. I thought it would be a good project because she can wear it lots of times.
We had a good time at the trunk-or-treat. They had chili and corn bread like usual. Then there was a little costume parade and the trunk-or-treat. Lexi and Jordan desperately wanted to walk around with their friends, so I talked to mine. It was a fun evening for all of us. We were one of the last ones to leave.

Entertainers

This evening, Lexi and Jordan decided to put on a performance for me. They were upstairs figuring out what to do. I heard lots of commotion. They asked me to sit on the couch. They announced it from the stairs. Lexi did the sound affects on the keyboard and Jordan did a lot of silly things. It ended up with him on the floor like he was dead. Funny kids.

Playdate with Neighbor
Lexi and Jordan have been asking to have neighbor friends over after school. Lexi had Kristina come. They did their homework together, giggled, and had fun before we walked her home. Kristina and Lexi were in the same class in first grade. She lives in our neighborhood, so she often walks with us after school or I give her a ride when I drive because it is too hot or too cold.

Primary Program
The primary program was today. It is the day that the kids take over our church meeting. They sing and each have a line to say. The eight year olds were asked to wear white to sing a special song. One of the moms took a picture of all of them after it was over, which made me really happy because I didn't take any pictures. Lexi has so many great friends in this picture. All of these girls were at her birthday party, except for two that moved in this summer. It is a great group.
