2016 Tony Awards - Uncle Milton

We don't watch a lot of television. In fact, we didn't have any channels for so long that I often forget that we have the basic ones. Tonight was a special occasion. We watched the beginning of the Tony Awards because the kids' great uncle Milton composed a 7 minute musical number/medley. It was amazing!!!  Here is the official link: Tony Awards

Supporting Team Mark

We have a friend that has just been diagnosed with stage 4 bile duct cancer. He is the nicest man and has a sweet family. He and his wife have 5 kids. The oldest one is 13. On Sunday, we gathered with a bunch of friends that go to church with him and took a Team Mark photo. The guy whose house we did it at happens to be the Fox News Weather Guy. He took the photo to work and it aired this evening. We certainly hope some of these efforts lift Mark's spirit.

Student Council on Morning Announcements

Lexi is the Vice President of Student Council. This morning, they were on morning announcements to sell smencils (aka smelly pencils). I decided to go and record it. 

New Puppies

Our friends, the Davis Family, have 8 new Golden Retriever puppies. Lexi has been begging to go see them. We went tonight and of course, she is in love with ALL of them.

Fun Run 2016

The kids had their annual Fun Run, which is one of the fund raising events the school puts on every year. They get so excited to spend the day running outside.

Katy Rodeo 2016

We went to the Katy Rodeo tonight. It is one of our favorite events of the year. I think it was the first time one of my kids didn't participate. They are too old for the stick horse race and mutton bustin.  

We were lucky enough to have our good friends, the Thayers, meet us at the rodeo. They always make it fun.  Here is a picture of Lexi and Heather:

Valentine Family Pictures

I wanted to take a few pictures of our little family before heading to church. Jordan was completely uncooperative. This isn't so unusual, but he always gives in except for today. I guess it is all about the girls.

This morning, Lucy got to come along on our walk to school. Of course, this made both kids happy, but Lexi the most.

Lucy for the Weekend

Lexi is thrilled to have Lucy for the weekend. This little dog is one of the joys in Lexi's life. They really do love each other.
