Self Cut

Today, I noticed that the end of Lexi's braid ended bluntly. Right away, I knew she had cut her hair. She quickly admitted it and felt bad, but I definitely had to let her know that this was not acceptable. I spent the day acting more annoyed than I was. In reality, I am hoping that this is the end of her haircutting and we got away with a lot less than most kids try. Fingers crossed!

Mainly, I am really tired of all of the acting out that she has been doing. I just want to get to Texas quickly so that she can calm down about the whole thing.

Easter Sunday

Lexi picked out her Easter dress this year. I think the color plays up her blue eyes. She was thrilled to wear it to church. Girls are always happy when they can twirl in a new dress.

Easter Baskets 2011

Last night, we got home very late from SeaWorld. The kids fell asleep in the car on the way home. Unfortunately, that meant that they didn't get to wear cute pjs to bed. Photos were taken of them looking for their Easter Baskets anyway. Lexi found her basket first and then I gave Jordan a few ideas where he should look for his.

Sea World Tonight

We went to SeaWorld tonight and made sure we caught the Sea Lion Show and Shamu Rocks along with other things. Lexi and Jordan wanted to go to Elmo's Playland. Unfortunately, there were a lot of older kids, which of course doesn't usually happen when we are there during the week. Lexi & J were playing in the punching bag area when Lexi's head got slammed by a bag. She ran to the side with tears in her eyes & I told her just to come out. Whenever she gets hurt, she becomes a big mama's girl and wants to be hugged & loved on by me. Most of the time when we are anywhere, I am holding Jordan's hand because he is wild, crazy, and difficult to handle. When Lexi gets hurt, I pass him off to my mom or Paige and focus on her. It took a while for her to get over it, mostly because her feelings get hurt too. She had a great night though.

Ouch!

Saturday Egg Hunt

I am swamped with work, but just had to squeeze in a little Easter fun. This morning, Paige put the candy in the Easter eggs for me. Then, we went out in the back and hid the eggs so that Lexi and Jordan could do an Easter Egg hunt. This was actually the second one this week, so they were professionals. They had one at the YMCA on Thursday.

Coloring Eggs

Tonight, we decided to color eggs. I bought egg wraps to do too, but our eggs were larger than the wraps. The kids, Aunt Paige, and I sat around the table and made 11. Twelve sounds like a logical number, but Grandma Margie boiled 11 because that is all that fit in the pan at one time. Lexi wanted to make her first egg green, as a special one for Grandma Margie. It was a fun activity. Lexi even ate an egg - something she pretends to dislike.

She will eat an egg...

Sunday at the Cove

As our time in California grows short, we realize that there are many sites/activities/adventures we are going to miss. The La Jolla Cove will definitely be on the top of the list. I decided to head there yesterday afternoon with the kids. We walked around, looked at the seals, listened to the sound of the ocean, climbed trees, and had a good time.

Ready for Church

This morning, Papa went to his church to perform, Grandma was a volunteer for the La Jolla half marathon, and we went to our church. Lexi and Jordan were all matchy and cute so I had to take a few photos even though I knew we'd be late.
