Hanging with Kacy

Kacy & Cole come to our house every day after school. Their house was flooded by Hurricane Harvey, so their family is staying across town with their Granddad. They stay at our house until their parents can pick them up after work. Today, Jordan and Cole headed out to the trampoline to rough house and the girls headed to Lexi's room to hang out. 

Tutti 2 Art Project

Lexi has a big 3D art project that she has been working on with Grandma since January. We went up to Grandma's today so they could work on it. She is making a wooden wiener dog, which of course was inspired by Tutti Fruiti (the dog we're taking care of this year). The goal this time was to put it together.

Basketball Game

The Mustangs played the Red Raiders today. They weren't successful. I feel like her team has a lot of potential, but they need more time together. Many of these teams have been playing together for several years. Lexi has a few girls on her team that have just started playing this season. They make quite a few silly mistakes. I do like that they are all learning a lot from these coaches. Another good thing is that they like each other. 

First Day of YW

Lexi started the Young Women program today in church. This is a class that the girls take from age 12 - HS graduation. They break off into little classes most Sundays. The 12 & 13 year olds are called Beehives. The 14 & 15 year olds are called MiaMaids. The girls 16 years old through graduation are called Laurels. She was able to start this on my birthday.

Lexi made a card for me for my birthday.

Skating Birthday

Lexi had her 12th birthday party at Mason Skate today. She was in charge of the entire thing. She called her dad and asked him to pay and he did. She created the invitation and sent it out to the friends she wanted to invite. She asked me to make a cookie cake to bring to the party. I think I like this streak of independence - at least when it comes to party planning.
