Good Friday

Friends called today and asked us to meet them at a park in the evening since the kids are out of school. Lexi got to play volleyball with some sweet friends (Simone, Heather, & Kaitlyn) that used to go to church with us. The ward (our congregation) got too big. They split us up and these friends ended up in the other ward. Good thing we can still meet for fun. 

Making Brigadeiros

The Young Women's activity tonight was at Katia's house. She taught them how to make Bridageiro. We had eaten them at her parties before and I always figured that it was so delicious, fancy and smooth that it must be complicated. It was actually fairly easy.

Wagner Farewell

One of the families from church is moving to Arkansas, so we went to a big farewell party for them. They taught Lexi's primary class a few years ago and she really adores them. Michelle, the wife, has lots of family down here, so they may be back at least they'll visit. I am sure that they are excited to get out of the hurricane zone. Their house was one of them destroyed last year by Hurricane Harvey. They are in the final stages of finishing it, but will work on selling it now.

Shamrock Smoothie

There is a new juice and smoothie place near us. They had a special on healthy Shamrock Smoothies today. While we were there, Lexi sampled a juice. 

Pi Day

We celebrated Pi day by going to Pie in the Sky in Conroe. My mom had an appointment with her doctors today. We went out to lunch while they were gone.

Last Chemo for Grandma

We're at Grandma and Grandpa's house for the first half of Spring Break. Grandma went to her last chemo appointment today. Fortunately, the Oncologist told her that she didn't have to do it. That's because her hands and feet are very numb. She has quite a bit of nerve damage from chemo. Anyway....she is done with chemo!!! She is very excited. They took us all out to the Club House for Pasta Night to celebrate.  

Touring SHSU

It is Spring Break here in the Houston area. We are extra spoiled this week because Aunt Paige is here for Grandma's last chemo. After church, we headed up to Sam Houston State University (SHSU). It is pretty close to Grandma and Papa's house, but mainly we went there to see Paige's old school. She spent her freshman year of college there. We walked around the historical area where Sam Houston's house and other old buildings were. It was pretty interesting. 

Lexi at J’s Game

Lexi entertained the girls during Jordan's playoff game tonight. These girls sure love her. We've known the family for 3 of them about 6.5 years. The one in the dress has a brother that has been on Jordan's team for 2 seasons. 

Playoff Game

Lexi's playoff game was tonight at the same time as Jordan's, but in different schools. Fortunately, she played against my best friend's daughter, Savannah. I watched the first half of Lexi's game. When I left at half time, the Mustangs were up 4 to 2. When I came back, I found out Lexi's team lost 6 to 4. I was actually very surprised. Lexi's team should have won. They were ranked higher, taller and mostly older. They usually score more baskets too. Oh well. I am glad it went to a team that I am happy for. Lexi's team is now done with their season.

YW Cell Free Zone

For the past few years, the YW leaders at church offer treats to girls to turn in their cell phones. That way, they can concentrate on the message rather than be distracted by their phones. It was a teenage girl, Emily Field, that came up with the idea. She has since graduated from high school and gone on with her life. In fact, she just returned from an 18 month mission to Siberia. They look this picture in honor of her contribution and to welcome her home.  

Big Win 21 to 19

The Mustangs had their first official win this season. This is actually the second time they beat this team, but the first time was just a practice game.
