Oma's Pumpkin Patch

Several months ago, I went on to Meetup.com and found a group called Single Parents. The idea is to announce get-togethers. So far, everything has been about the parents getting together for a night out. I haven't been interested. A week ago, they announced a single parent/kids outing at Oma's Pumpkin Patch, so I RSVPd Yes. Grandma Margie thought is sounded fun and came along too. The group didn't really stick together, but we met another mom with a 3.5 year old boy that we hung out with. She moved here about a week ago. We had fun getting to know them and enjoying the activities.

Halloween Coloring

This morning, Lexi woke up with a horribly stiff neck. Different movements made her cry out in pain. Since I happen to have LOTS of work, I decided it would be a good day to stay in. I printed off a bunch of Halloween clip art so that she could color. Jordan colored a little, but as usual got bored with it and started playing around. By the way, they have red in their hair because I we played with a Halloween Spray.

Spooktacular 2010 #2

We went back to Sea World today. It is fun and free. I packed a lunch for us both days, so we didn't spend any money. I didn't have the kids dress up today, but they got to wear Halloween shirts. They also did trick-or-treating and picture taking.

Spooktacular 2010 #1

It is that time of year when Sea World is hosting their Halloween Spooktacular on the weekends. They have changed a few of their shows and the kids get to dress up for trick-or-treating. I let the kids pick out costumes from their dress-up bin. Of course, Lexi wanted to be a princess. Sea World has treat stations throughout the park where they give out things like mini-bananas, peanut butter, and some candy. Plus, there are lots of characters to take pictures with, which my kids LOVE.

Mother's Morning Out

I had planned to put Lexi in pre-school this year, but it didn't work out. The YMCA is affiliated with a great one. She was going to go 2 days a week from 9:30 am to noon. Unfortunately, on the day we went to sign up, I found out that they decided to increase the price by a lot. I am not worried about her missing out on anything. I mainly wanted her to go because I know she would enjoy it. However, I just can't afford it, so we are doing our own thing. We are doing reading lessons and we go to the YMCA four days a week. They get to play outside with other kids for 2 hours.

I am also going to try to sign them up for different activities. This month, they are doing a mother's morning out program on Fridays. They are supposed to do crafts and gymnastics. Yesterday, they were the only ones there, so the teacher let Lexi run the show and she chose gymnastics the whole time. I am a little disappointed by that, but Lexi is a natural leader and this happens. Next month, we'll try something else. At least they had fun and got a lot of exercise.
