Snow Day 1

We came up to Montgomery for Jackson's birthday and MLK. I had a huge deadline yesterday and Lexi needed help with a big art project. I worked until 7pm, which was just enough time to find out that the school would be closed for a snow day today. It is REALLY cold and the roads are covered in ice. It is fun, but we wished we would have packed warmer clothes so we could enjoy it. Good thing Grandma and Papa have a fireplace. That helps us warm up after being outside.

Jackson’s Party

It is Jackson's third birthday today. We went to Incredible Pizza with his parents, Grandma & Papa to celebrate. The kids enjoyed the buffet, video games, and watching Jackson ride on the go carts.

Primary Fun

From age 3 to 12, Mormon children attend primary. They have about an hour of class with the kids that were born the same year as they were. Then another hour with a group of classes. For our ward/congregation, this includes ages 8 to 12. Lexi is quickly coming to the end of her time in Primary. Since I am the secretary in Primary, I thought I would take a few pictures for her to remember. She has been with most of these kids for the six and a half years that we have lived here. A few of them moved in after us, but for the most part they know each other very well.

In the picture below, the kids are putting stickers on their teacher, Brother Christiansen. They were given stickers when they sang beautifully and reverently. The game is called Singing Rash. They get to give their teacher a rash when they are singing well.

The “Talk” At School

On the way to basketball tonight
Lexi: Today, we learned about sexual reproduction
Me: Human or animal?
Lexi: Both & a-sexual
Me: Oh...
Lexi: I’m pretty sure they’re not supposed to teach that until high school. They laid a bomb on us!
This made me laugh!

Friday Night Practice

Lexi has practice on Mondays and Friday nights at 7 pm

First Game - Win 17 to 16

Lexi had her first game this morning. It was extremely close 17 to 16, but they won. I swear these kinds of games get me close to a nervous breakdown. I stood up the entire time, which was mostly because I didn't have a seat, but partly because I get tense. It is a good thing that I was a little late since Jordan and Lexi had back to back games. I had to miss a bit of each game to make it work. The first game is the one that shows you what the girls have. You can't really see that at practice.

New Year’s Day

We came back to Katy today to spend New Year's Day with some of our favorite friends. Grandma, Papa, and Aunt Paige came with us, but we didn't get photos of them. We had finger foods (Cowboy Caviar), ate dinner (ribs & sauerkraut), socialized, played reverse charades (where the team acts it out and one person guesses), and watched the Incredibles. We always have a lot of good laughs when we are with them.
