Lexi and I have been talking about doing a major trim for a while. I felt she needed to get a lot of the dead ends cut off, especially after all the damage that occurred during swim team. She was interested, but not 100% on board. It is hard when something has become part of your identity, which is another reason I felt she should cut it. She is more than the hair on her head. She agreed and even wanted it cut. It came down to today and I cut about a foot off. As you can see in the pictures, she has mixed emotions about it. I see a nice healthy head of hair.

Meet the Teacher - 4th Grade
Tonight, we went to the elementary school for Meet The Teacher. Lexi and Jordan always enjoy seeing old friends, looking around the school to see what changed, distributing their school supplies, and of course meeting their new teachers. Both kids have splits this year, which means they have one teacher for half the day and then head to another class for the second half. Lexi's homeroom teacher is named, Ms. Gonzalez. She has a very out-going friendly personality and looks like she is about my age. Her other teacher is quite reserved and shy (at least around adults), but is probably just a little younger than me.

Silly Pictures
Grandma Margie made an owl skirt for Lexi that she decided to wear to church today. I told her I wanted to take pictures. As you can see, Lexi was hamming it up today.

Selfie with Me
I had a wedding to attend tonight. It was for Becky Petersen's daughter, Paige. My kids adore Becky. After I finished my hair and make-up, Lexi asked if we could take a selfie. We did. A couple that I am friends with, Sonja & Juan came over and watched the kids for me.

Goodbye Photo
Alma, Eden and Corbin came to church with us for the first hour and then they headed out. Right before they left, I had them take this picture outside of the church. They were ready to have a break from each other. It isn't easy spending a solid week with others. Sharing rooms and every activity can get old. It makes me laugh though. What a good thing for them to learn about relationships and life. I know it was a great week that they will have fond memories of forever.

Matching Outfits
I bought matching outfits for Lexi and Eden to have for school. It was a good deal and they were cute. The t-shirts say, "It is hard to be cool" in French at least that is what Google search told me. These two girls will be in Fourth grade this year. In January, they will be turning 10. Time sure flies. Alma went to his high school reunion tonight. I am sure he is having a blast chatting with everyone.
Beach Club
We knew that one day during their trip, we had to take Alma and his kids to the Beach Club. This is just a unique pool with a lake that has paddle boats for residents. Alma took a few of the kids out on the paddle boat. We also ran into an extended family that Alma and I knew back in the day. That made it extra fun, even though I see them around.

Mall Day
Trampoline Sleeping
The kids were begging to sleep on the trampoline. Alma was ok with it and since he is the one sleeping in the family room, I let them. My window overlooks the backyard anyway. Lexi is the only one who ended up coming in during the night.

Beach Day
Alma requested a beach day during his trip, so we headed to Galveston today. It isn't an impressive beach, but we certainly had a great time. We also drove all the way home with sand all over us, so the beach experience was complete.

Chill Out Day
Yesterday was long, full of traveling, all about swimming, and basically exhausting. The best plans we could come up with for today were about chilling. We went to the free kids movie at the Palladium (super fancy theater). Alma said they have never been to such an incredible theater before. I guess this isn't common in Wyoming (of course). Next, we took them to the furniture store that is right next to the Palladium. It may sound funny, but kids LOVE this furniture store. It has giant bed for them to jump on, a gigantic atrium (with free ice cream), and over-sized furniture to take pictures on.
Once we were done, we headed into west Houston to hit the Middle Eastern/European grocery store. I knew Alma would love it and kids always get a kick out of it. We ate at the cafe there. I just love to introduce people to their chicken schwarmas.

Swimming in Hill Country
We planned a lot of activities and travel for today. First, we stopped at Buc-ee's (of course) to get snacks and take a picture with the Buc-ee statue. Our first fun stop was at the Comal River in New Braunfels. I've been wanting to go for years, but I was a little worried about doing it with two kids. I figured this would be a much better way to try it out. It was amazing and we'll be doing it again.
After the river, we went to a nearby park to have a picnic. Don't let Eden's expression fool you, the food was tasty especially since we were starving. Eden definitely has her dad's talent of pulling weird faces for pictures.
After lunch, we headed up to Wimberley to go to the Blue Hole Regional Park. Man, the water was cold, but the swings were a HIT.
Alma took a few turns too

Dinner at a BBQ place in Wimberley. Boys on one side of the table and girls on the other.

Lexi & Eden at the Pool
Today, we went to a different pool in our community. The pools here are truly amazing and free for us. I thought it would a be a great way for Alma & his kids to enjoy the trip and save some money. We have other activities planned too, but definitely plenty of swimming. I think the above picture is great, especially once you notice the photo bomber in the back.

Cousins Ready for Church
This morning, I took a few pictures of these kids before church. As you can see they can be characters at times.

Alma in town with his Kids
My brother, Alma, has his 20th high school reunion next weekend. He came with his kids and is going to be with us this entire week. I took the week off so we can have lots of fun. The arrived today and we headed to the water park so the fun can start right away. Above is a picture of Corbin, Eden, Lexi and Jordan.
