Uncle Chris' Birthday Bonfire Party

Sunday was dedicated to celebrating Uncle Chris' 30th Birthday. We headed down to Mission Bay for a bonfire. We had hot dogs, pasta, chips, and cheesecake. The kids enjoyed celebrating by playing.

Malcolm's Birthday Party

Malcolm's 60th birthday party was last night (Saturday). We had it at the club house in our neighborhood. The theme was "Pirate Radio" so everyone was supposed to wear 60s clothes. The kids, which mainly consisted of Lexi & Jordan's cousins, ate appetizers and then went downstairs to watch a video. Lexi had fun and ended up staying at the party longer than Jordan and me.

Seaport Village with the Cousins

Friday night, we all went to Seaport Village to walk around the little shops and look at the water. The kids loved trying on lots of hats at the hat shop and riding the carousel that I think goes too quickly.

Cousins at the Cove

Lexi and Jordan are so excited to be spending time with their cousins. Uncle Clay & Aunt Katie came last night (Thursday) with their five kids: Zak, Kaylie, Miriam, Ammon, and Rachel. We took them down to the Cove this morning.

Hotel Del Coronado

Last night, we ate dinner early and headed over to the Hotel Del Coronado, which is an amazing old hotel on the island of Coronado. It is beautifully decorated for Christmas. There are lots of little shops, an ice skating rink, and we even got to see the Disney Princesses. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and only had my phone to take pictures.

Pacific Beach Holiday Decor

We took Uncle Chris to Pacific Beach to see the water and interesting people. The pier had a Christmas tree on the end, so we went out to see it and take a few photos.

Volunteering for Homeless Kids

Lexi was a volunteer at Grandma's work today. The facility brought in a bunch of young homeless kids to entertain them and give them presents. Lexi agreed to help Santa pass out presents. She must have worked hard because when she came home she was exhausted.

Face Paint at SeaWorld

Paige didn't get to go to SeaWorld with us for Jordan's birthday because she has a new job. We decided to take her yesterday. Lexi had a really lucky morning. One of the Face Painters offered to do hers for free. She was a walking ad all morning. We had a good time but were disappointed that the shows in the morning were all the regular ones. Apparently, the holiday shows are in the late afternoon/evening, which was long after we left.

Church Christmas Party

We went to the church Christmas party last night. Of course, I wanted us all to dress a little festive. The kids got to sit on Santa's lap. Lexi asked for a My Little Pony. Jordan was just happy to get a candy cane from Santa.

We ate dinner and then heard that announcement that all the Primary kids needed to come to the stage. I didn't know Lexi was going to be part of the performance. I thought they might sing. I didn't have a chance to prepare her. She even missed the practices. All I can say was that she was quite entertaining. Next time, they probably will not put her in front. She certainly put on a show by smiling and waving at us, playing with her halo, turning around to see the kids behind her, playing in the curtains off to the side, walking around the girl next to her to peak into the manger, and lifting up her shirt several times. People were cracking up. Finally, the last song was one that she knew. She perked up and sang beautifully while standing fairly still. **I tried to get a lot of pictures and video, but the lighting ruined most of them.
