Inflatables

We met some friends at one of the inflatables places here. The kids got to jump themselves into exhaustion, while the moms got to catch up.

This afternoon, the kids started preparing for their dad's birthday weekend. They made cards and sang for him. The kids can’t wait to give him the presents they picked out. Lexi wants to give him a pack of cards that have pictures of Jesus on them. She thinks it would be great for him to keep in his Bible.

Morning Bike Ride

We met our friends at the park for a morning bike ride today. We went around one lake. Lexi's bike had a flat tire and Jordan needed too much help, so we walked around the other. After that, we had cinnamon rolls, fruit and milk at a picnic bench. It was quite hot outside, but good to get out and be with friends.

Whomping Willow

When we moved back from California, Lexi fondly started calling our peach tree in the backyard the Whomping Willow. That is a huge tree from the Harry Potter movies/books that whomps anyone/thing that gets near it. This evening, we noticed that some of the peaches are getting big. We took a few photos. Clearly, this is not a whomping willow because the kids can get very close.

Beach Club

We went to the Beach Club with our friends this morning. I took very few photos, but did get the top one of Lexi and the bottom one of Lexi and Camden.

Backpack for School

We got an ad over the weekend announcing that Academy had backpacks on sale this week. We headed over there today and found one for Lexi. She is quite excited.

Mom Artwork

Lexi loves to write "mom" and "Lexi," and "Jordan" on her artwork. Today, she made a big mom sign.

Pioneer Camp

This week, my friend Tiffany hosted Pioneer Camp. The kids were doing crafts and activities at her house on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We all went swimming on Tuesday and Thursday. I'm sure it exhausted her, but they had an amazing time and learned so much. They even made butter. What a great experience.

I took a bunch of pictures of the kids being silly. I was entertaining them while Tiffany prepared lunch. Kids just love to perform for the camera. All of them got into it except for Jordan. He loves all the toys they have in their house and didn't want to be bothered with the camera. Lexi tried to teach them how to go cross-eyed.

Church Talent Show 2011

Our church had a talent show this evening. They have been passing around sign-up sheets for the past few weeks. Lexi asked me if I would sign her up. They had the option of doing a display or performing. I signed her up for a display. I knew there was no way I could take the time to work on a performance with her. She wanted to perform, but settled for doing artwork. I told her to make pictures of pioneers, since July is the month we celebrate them. Plus, our friend is running a pioneer summer camp for the kids this week. I think the pictures look great. She got lots of compliments and even a gold medal. We enjoyed watching the performances although none of them were outstanding and some were definitely not very good. Perhaps next year, we'll try to put one together for her.
