Family Reunion Day 1

We made it to Bear Lake today.  Actually, we were here last night, but didn't come into the state park.  This was partly because our reservations started today and partly because I am working on a huge proposal that is due on Monday and the local KOA seems to be the only place that has WiFi.  We got here and quickly met up with my mom's siblings and a few cousins and their posterity - lots of my cousins and the kids' second cousins.  My brothers hadn't arrived yet.  

One of my cousins decided to start family competitions.  They divided the teams by my mom's generations' grand-kids   Lexi and Jordan were the only ones there representing my mom (our family).  The first game was a pie eating contest.  We had to pick one to compete.  The competition was stiff considering that everyone else had a 9 - 12 year old boy volunteer.  Both of my kids are pretty good eaters. Lexi is more focused and competitive, so I asked her to do it.  She sat down and was ready to go.  When they announced the rules (you can’t use your hands), she changed her mind.  Jordan jumped right in.  Sadly, he did not win.  He came in dead last, but was the only one that didn't get sick.  Actually, he was still interested in his pie when it was over.  He simply licked the whipped cream like he was a kitten.  We couldn't help but laugh.  I don't think he even made it to the pudding.  Lexi was glad because she got to eat some too – with her hands of course.       

The rest of the afternoon was filled with wave runner fun.  My cousin, Seth, took them out first.  Later, his brother, Weston (pictured below), took them out a few times.  They LOVED every ride.  My brothers' families showed up and joined in on the fun.

That night about dinner time, it started raining – pouring.  Clayton & Alma’s families came into the RV with us.  I turned on a video for the kids and Malcolm put the dutch ovens in the oven.  We ate in there and hid from the storm.  It cleared up, so they were able to sleep in their tents that night.  Here is a picture of Lexi with Kaylee (Clayton's daughter).
